Two arrested in Antalya murder case; suspect reportedly wore wig

Antalya, Turkey – Authorities have arrested two suspects in connection with the fatal shooting of İlhan Kaval, a 44-year-old employee of Van Metropolitan Municipality. Kaval was killed on August 22nd when he was shot multiple times while entering his brother's apartment in the Hurma neighborhood of Konyaaltı district.

Antalya police launched an extensive investigation following the incident. Detectives from the Homicide Bureau of the Provincial Police Department identified and apprehended three suspects: Ü.K., believed to be the shooter; M.Y., alleged to have driven the getaway vehicle; and M.A., accused of providing a location for the suspects. They were arrested at a hotel in the Tahılpazarı neighborhood.

During the investigation, it was revealed that Ü.K. allegedly disposed of the firearm in the sea after the attack and attempted to evade capture by changing his clothes. Reports indicate that Ü.K. wore a wig on the day of the shooting to avoid recognition.

Following legal proceedings, Ü.K. and M.Y. were formally arrested and sent to court. M.A. was released under judicial control measures. The investigation into the motive and circumstances surrounding Kaval's murder continues.
