Two Dead in Chicken Truck Overturn on West Coast Expressway

Tragedy struck on the West Coast Expressway (WCE) today as a horrific accident claimed the lives of two individuals. A truck carrying a load of chickens veered off the road and overturned near Sitiawan, resulting in the untimely deaths of its occupants.

The Perak Fire and Rescue Department received the distress call shortly after 10 a.m. Upon arrival at Kilometer 194.7 of the WCE northbound, rescue teams discovered the grim scene: the truck lay overturned on the roadside, and tragically, two men were found trapped outside the vehicle. Preliminary reports indicate the victims were between 30 and 45 years old.

There were two men who had fallen out of the vehicle and were trapped beside the lorry.

Firefighters worked diligently to extricate the trapped victims using specialized rescue equipment. Sadly, both men were pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. Their bodies were subsequently handed over to the police for further investigation into the cause of the accident. The operation, involving seven personnel and a fire engine, concluded by late morning.
