Two Gardaí Hospitalized After Becoming Unwell Processing Seized Vape Products

Two members of the Garda Síochána, Ireland's national police force, have been hospitalized after falling ill while processing seized vape products. The incident occurred at Edenderry Garda Station in County Offaly.

The two male officers were engaged in processing the vape products, which had been seized from a commercial premises as part of an ongoing investigation. Both officers became unwell while on duty at the station. They are currently under medical assessment in the hospital, and gardaí are providing welfare support to them and their families.

As a precautionary measure, Edenderry Garda Station will remain closed pending further examination and specialist deep cleaning. The station is expected to undergo this process tomorrow. In the interim, policing services for the area are being managed from Tullamore Garda Station.
