Two Men Arrested in Mexico City After Fight, Long Gun and Marijuana Seized

Two men were arrested in Mexico City on Sunday after allegedly being involved in a public disturbance and found in possession of a long firearm and 55 bags of suspected marijuana. The incident occurred at the intersection of Francisco Olaguibel and Simón Bolívar streets in the Obrera neighborhood of the Cuauhtémoc borough.

Police officers were alerted by C2 Centro operators about a fight in progress, with reports of individuals carrying firearms. Responding officers arrived at the scene and observed the suspects fleeing into a building. The police pursued them and entered the premises.

Inside the building's common area, officers apprehended two men, aged 40 and 45. A subsequent search revealed a long firearm and 55 transparent plastic bags containing a green, dry herb resembling marijuana. Both individuals were detained and transferred to the custody of the public prosecutor, along with the seized weapon and suspected drugs.

The public prosecutor's office has opened an investigation to determine the legal status of the arrested men.
