Two New Deputy Ministers Appointed at Lithuania's Environment Ministry

Lithuania's Ministry of Environment has welcomed two new deputy ministers, Aira Paliukėnaitė and G. Ričkutė, who have commenced their duties. The ministry highlighted that both deputies possess extensive experience within the ministry, bringing deep understanding to their respective fields.

"The new deputy ministers have worked at the Ministry of Environment for many years, they have a thorough understanding of their areas of activity. Their professional knowledge and experience will help make decisions that are important to people and protect the environment," stated the Minister of Environment, Ieva Andriulaitytė.

Deputy Minister A. Rokickienė will oversee matters related to construction and spatial planning. G. Ričkutė will be responsible for environmental protection, pollution prevention, strategic environmental impact assessment, environmental monitoring, state control of environmental protection, and waste management. Meanwhile, A. Paliukėnaitė, who served in the previous government, will continue to focus on nature protection policy, climate policy, and EU and international relations.

Additionally, V. Kondratovičius has taken on the role of Chancellor of the Ministry of Environment, previously serving as the Minister of the Interior. Ramunė Muzikevičiūtė-Narmontienė has also joined as the Minister's communications advisor, having previously worked as a communications advisor for Member of Parliament Rūta Miliūtė.
