Typhoon Forces All-Night Rescue Operations in Taiwan's Taoyuan City

Typhoon Bailu's outer bands brought strong winds and heavy rain to Taiwan's Taoyuan City, leading to fallen trees and emergency responses throughout the night. Police officers were kept busy clearing roads and ensuring public safety amidst the severe weather. In the Taoyuan District, a section of the Taolin Railway Trail became impassable due to a fallen tree, prompting officers from the Xiaohuai Creek Police Station to cordon off the area and coordinate its swift removal. The incident highlighted the dangers posed by the storm to public infrastructure and access. Separately, in the early hours of the morning, officers from the Puzi Police Station responded to a call about a 71-year-old woman who had collapsed on Lixing Road. The woman, reportedly suffering from a headache due to a cold, had left her home to buy medication and fell due to exhaustion. Officers assisted her to shelter from the rain, contacted emergency medical services, and ensured she was safely returned home after a check-up confirmed she was unharmed.
