UBSI Expands Global Network, Forges Strategic Partnership with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak

Universitas Bina Sarana Informatika (UBSI) has strengthened its international presence by signing a strategic cooperation agreement with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). The deal, inked at the UNIMAS campus in Sarawak, Malaysia, signifies a commitment to broadening academic collaboration, research, and human resource development across the region. UBSI Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Mochamad Wahyudi and UNIMAS Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Haji Ahmad Hata Rasit signed the accord, with support from UBSI Co-Founder Naba Aji Notoseputro and West Java Professors Association Chairman Prof. Dr. Edi Setiadi, underscoring the importance of Indonesia-Malaysia academic ties.

This partnership will facilitate various collaborative programs, including joint research projects, enhanced training for faculty and researchers, matching grants, academic consultancy, and international scientific publications. The initiative also aims to improve the quality of higher education within both institutions. Prof. Wahyudi emphasized that international collaboration is essential for navigating the increasingly complex landscape of higher education, stating, "We believe the challenges in higher education today can only be answered through collaboration."

He further noted that the UNIMAS partnership is a prime opportunity to create impactful joint programs. These include collaborative research, innovation development, high-impact international publications, and community service activities benefiting both nations. Wahyudi stressed that internationalization is measured not just by the number of foreign partners but by the tangible benefits generated for academics and the wider community. "We hope this cooperation will be quickly realized through concrete programs such as joint research, academic exchanges, international seminars, faculty capacity building, and community service activities," he added.

UNIMAS Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Haji Ahmad Hata Rasit welcomed the partnership, viewing cross-border cooperation as vital for strengthening the Southeast Asian higher education ecosystem. He believes the exchange of knowledge, research collaboration, and innovation development will yield significant benefits for the community. The collaboration is expected to open doors for broader academic programs, including joint research, publications, and potentially more extensive academic exchanges.
