UEFA Adjusts Schedule for Hajduk's Potential Europa League Match

Hajduk Split holds a strong advantage after defeating Pafos 2-0 in their Europa League qualifying match, positioning them well for the second leg and a potential third-round clash.

However, UEFA has revised the schedule for the third qualifying round. Originally, Hajduk, or the winner of the Pafos tie, was slated to host the first leg. Due to the UEFA Super Cup being held in Salzburg on August 12th, the European governing body has decided to swap home and away fixtures. If Hajduk progresses, they would now play the first leg against Red Bull Salzburg in Austria on August 6th, with the return leg in Split a week later.

The club's European journey presents several possibilities. Advancing past Pafos means facing at least two more hurdles to reach the Europa League league phase, including a playoff round. Even a loss in the third qualifying round would not end their European season, as they would drop into the Conference League playoffs for another chance at a main-stage spot. If they were to be eliminated in the Europa League playoffs, they would automatically secure a place in the Conference League league phase. Conversely, an early exit against Pafos would see them continue in the Conference League qualifiers, potentially facing Žalgiris or Dinamo Tbilisi, also with the first leg away.
