UGM Medical Faculty Welcomes New Students with PIONIR Morfogenesis 2026

Universitas Gadjah Mada's Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing (FK-KMK UGM) has officially welcomed its new undergraduate students for the 2026/2027 academic year through the PIONIR Morfogenesis 2026 event. The two-day orientation program, held on August 5-6, 2026, introduced the 553 'Sardjito Muda' (Young Sardjito) students to the faculty's environment.

Under the theme 'Dedicated Individuals, Serving the Motherland,' the event featured a series of activities including talk shows and guided sessions. Bunga Azzahra Suryadi, an organizer for PIONIR Morfogenesis 2026, explained that the program is designed to familiarize new students with FK-KMK UGM. This year's event included a new talk show segment inviting inspirational healthcare professionals to provide real-world insights and motivation for the students pursuing health-related studies.

The PIONIR Morfogenesis 2026 program is built around five core values intended to guide students in their academic and social lives. These values aim to cultivate 'Sardjito Muda' who are adaptable, responsible, possess critical thinking skills, and demonstrate concern for the environment and society. The new cohort comprises 277 students in Medicine, 164 in Nursing (including 27 from Prior Learning Recognition), and 112 in Nutrition.

Danu Yudhistira, a lecturer in General Medicine, highlighted the inclusion of the Prior Learning Recognition (RPL) program this year, allowing D3 graduates to pursue their S1 degrees. He encouraged new students to seek guidance from their Academic Advisors and senior students if they encounter any challenges or doubts during their studies, emphasizing the importance of a healthy mental and physical state throughout their academic journey.
