Ukraine Congratulates Poland on Armed Forces Day, Citing Shared Struggle

Ukraine's General Staff extended congratulations to Poland on the occasion of Polish Armed Forces Day, expressing deep gratitude for years of consistent military support, soldier training, and logistical assistance. The message also acknowledged the Polish nation's hospitality towards Ukrainian families who sought refuge.

In a statement released on Telegram, the Ukrainian military leadership conveyed warm regards to the Polish Armed Forces and the entire Polish nation. The message underscored the historical significance of the day, commemorating Poland's 1920 victory in the Battle of Warsaw. This pivotal battle, where Polish forces and the Ukrainian People's Army repelled a Bolshevik invasion, is seen as a crucial moment in defending European freedom. The General Staff noted that the "over a century-long joint struggle against Muscovite imperialism" continues today on the Ukrainian front.

The Ukrainian General Staff specifically thanked the Polish military and the Republic of Poland for their sustained military backing since 2014, and particularly since the full-scale Russian invasion began in February 2022. Gratitude was expressed for Poland's leadership within the Ramstein format, the LITPOLUKRBRIG multinational brigade, the EUMAM Ukraine mission, the NSATU initiative, and the NATO-Ukraine Joint Training and Evaluation Centre (JATEC). Support for the LEGIO operation, training of Ukrainian units, and logistical assistance were also highlighted.

The salute "Glory to Poland! Glory to Ukraine! Together – to victory!" was shared, reinforcing the strong bond between the two nations.
