A security incident at Leipzig/Halle Airport in Germany has raised alarms, involving Ukrainian transport planes and a drone discovered with explosives. German newspapers, including Süddeutsche Zeitung and Der Spiegel, reported that the Ukrainian Antonov transport aircraft were in close proximity to the drone, which was found loaded with military ammunition.

The Ukrainian airline operates and produces aircraft, handling cargo transport for NATO through the SALIS program. This program provides participating countries access to large transport aircraft for missions where standard military transports are insufficient. The presence of these aircraft at the airport during the drone discovery has intensified the investigation.

German authorities are treating the incident as a potential "hybrid attack." Interior Minister Alexander Dobrint stated that a weaponized drone at an airport represents a new threat scenario. He noted that the perpetrators are likely not amateurs but rather professionals with high technical expertise and knowledge of explosives. The drone itself has been classified as an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).

Investigators are considering several scenarios, including a possible Russian-initiated attempt to attack Ukrainian military equipment stationed in Germany.
