UMNO Must End 'Farce' on Tabung Haji Inquiry, Official Should Resign: Youth Wing

The UMNO Youth wing (AMK) Selangor has sharply criticized the party's stance on the Tabung Haji (TH) Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI), labeling it a 'farce' and demanding an end to the political maneuvering. The wing's Selangor chief, Muhammad Iman Haziq Mohammad Hamizi, issued a strong call for UMNO to cease its 'sandiwara' – a Malay term often implying a staged or insincere performance – regarding the inquiry.

Adding to the pressure, AMK Selangor specifically targeted Datuk Dr. Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, the Chairman of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara), calling for his immediate resignation. The youth wing's statement implies that Dr. Dusuki bears responsibility for the issues surrounding the TH RCI and that his continued position is untenable.

Muhammad Iman Haziq emphasized that UMNO, by virtue of being a component party within the current government, has an obligation to respect the findings and conclusions of the Royal Commission of Inquiry. This suggests a potential internal party conflict over how the TH RCI's outcomes should be addressed and managed, particularly concerning accountability and leadership.
