Universitario climbs out of last place with crucial win over Nacional Potosí

Universitario achieved a vital 2-0 victory against Nacional Potosí at the Félix Capriles stadium, marking a significant shift in their league position. This win, occurring during the 17th round of the 'all against all' tournament, allowed the Cochabamba-based team to climb out of the bottom spot in the league table.

The home team struck early in the match. In the eighth minute, Esdras Mendoza made a strong play down the right flank, cut inside the area, and sent a low cross. Following a rebound, the forward was positioned to tap the ball in, giving Universitario a 1-0 lead.

Nacional Potosí attempted to mount a comeback, but Universitario maintained control of the game. They extended their lead in the second half when Oswaldo Blanco scored from close range after receiving an assist from Diego Saavedra, making the score 2-0.

With the comfortable advantage, Universitario managed the remaining minutes of the game to secure the three points.
