Universitas Indonesia Ranks 191st Globally in QS 2027 Rankings

Universitas Indonesia (UI) has secured the 191st position globally in the QS World University Rankings 2027, solidifying its status as Indonesia's top-ranked university. Released on June 18, 2026, by the London-based Quacquarelli Symonds, the rankings place UI as the sole Indonesian institution within the top 200 worldwide. Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) follows closely at 206th.

Regionally, UI ranks 47th in Asia and 8th in Southeast Asia. UI Rector Heri Hermansyah emphasized that maintaining this position in the top 200 is a crucial foundation for future development. He credited the achievement to the collective efforts of the entire academic community, alumni, and partners, expressing a commitment to continued progress.

The latest QS rankings highlight UI's strengths in employer reputation (87.4), graduate employability (81.0), and international faculty ratio (88.4). These metrics are key components of QS's evaluation system for higher education institutions. The QS World University Rankings 2027 assessed 1,504 universities globally, with 20 Indonesian universities making the list. The rankings utilize five main indicators: Research and Discovery (50%), Employment and Outcomes (20%), Learning Experience (10%), Global Engagement (15%), and Sustainability (5%).
