UNM Student Gains Cyber Security Experience at Indonesian Ministry

Rizqi Ardiansah, a student from Universitas Nusa Mandiri's (UNM) Informatics program, has successfully completed a significant three-month industrial internship. He gained practical experience within the Network and Cyber Security Division of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), from March 2 to June 1, 2026.

During his internship, Rizqi was directly involved in configuring, maintaining, and monitoring network infrastructure and cyber security systems. This immersive experience allowed him to understand the real-world application of information technology in supporting government operations and safeguarding digital assets.

Ardiansah described the internship as a pivotal moment in his academic journey, enabling him to apply theoretical knowledge to practical challenges. "Interning at KKP provided me with invaluable experience. I learned not only about network management and cyber security but also how technology is used to protect information within government institutions. This experience boosted my confidence and understanding of professional standards," he stated.

Arfhan Prasetyo, Head of UNM's Informatics Study Program, highlighted the importance of such industry internships. "As a Digital Business Campus, UNM equips students with classroom theory and provides opportunities for real industry experience. Rizqi's success at KKP demonstrates that our Informatics students possess the relevant skills needed by strategic sectors," Prasetyo said. He added that the curriculum, designed around industry needs and project-based learning, prepares students to translate technical knowledge into impactful solutions.
