Unstable weather expected until April 20: EMA

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has issued a weather advisory, warning of unstable conditions expected to persist until April 20. As Al-Masry Al-Youm reports, Thursday marks the peak of rising temperatures across the nation, with daytime highs reaching scorching levels, especially in the southern regions. This heatwave will be accompanied by active winds, creating dust and sandstorms that will significantly reduce visibility in several areas, including Greater Cairo and parts of Upper Egypt.

Thursday will see the peak of rising temperatures across the country, with hot weather prevailing during the daytime, becoming milder at night and in the early morning.

While the hot weather will prevail during the day, nights and early mornings are expected to offer some respite, becoming milder. However, the EMA also forecasts a chance of light to moderate rainfall, potentially with thunderstorms, in the Sinai Peninsula and the Red Sea mountain range. This unpredictable weather pattern underscores the dynamic nature of Egypt's climate during this transitional period.

This will coincide with active winds stirring up sand and dust in different areas, particularly the western coasts, Greater Cairo, and northern Upper Egypt, which impact horizontal visibility.

Starting Friday, a gradual decrease in temperatures is anticipated, with a drop of two to five degrees Celsius expected across northern Egypt, extending to Cairo and Upper Egypt. Despite this cooling trend, dust-laden winds may continue to affect visibility. The EMA reminds citizens that spring in Egypt is typically characterized by rapid weather changes and the seasonal Khamsin winds, urging everyone to stay informed and take necessary precautions, particularly those with respiratory ailments.
