Uruguay Forecasts Cold, Cloudy Sunday with Lows of -2°C

Uruguay is bracing for a chilly Sunday, June 21, 2026, as the Institute of Uruguayan Meteorology (Inumet) predicts a day marked by low temperatures and overcast skies across the country.

Nationwide, the minimum temperature is expected to be -2°C, while the maximum will reach 17°C. The weather will vary slightly by region. The northwest and northeast will see morning clouds with periods of overcast skies, fog, and isolated light rain. Frost is also anticipated in these areas, particularly in the northeast where the minimum temperature will be the lowest at -2°C.

In the southwest and central-south regions, mornings will be partly cloudy to cloudy with fog and potential for light precipitation. The east and the popular coastal resort of Punta del Este will also experience cloudy conditions with fog and mist. Montevideo and its metropolitan area will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies in the morning, with fog and possible agricultural frost, clearing slightly to partly cloudy conditions in the evening.

Looking ahead, Inumet forecasts a continuation of mostly cloudy to overcast conditions for the upcoming days. There is a low probability of thunderstorms, but an increase in wind, particularly from the southwest and west, is expected across various parts of the country.
