US Ambassador: No Cartel Leader Beyond Reach, Offers $25 Million Reward for 'El Pelón'

Ronald Johnson, the U.S. ambassador to Mexico, issued a strong warning: no cartel leader is safe from Mexican, American, and international authorities. He emphasized this by sharing a notice on social media offering a reward for information on Juan Carlos Valencia González, "El Pelón," who is identified as a new leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG).

"No cartel leader is beyond the reach of the United States, Mexico, and our international partner networks," Johnson stated. "There is nowhere left to hide. We will find you and you will be held accountable." The U.S. has raised the reward for information leading to "El Pelón's" capture to $25 million.

Valencia González is accused of multiple crimes, including conspiracy to import and distribute illicit drugs into the United States. The ambassador reiterated the U.S. commitment, under President Trump's leadership, to dismantling cartels through decisive actions. He also celebrated the recent arrest of "Rango" and other members of the Rango Transnational Criminal Organization by Mexican authorities, following a joint investigation.
