US missile strikes hit Iran's Bushehr, state media reports

U.S. missile strikes targeted multiple sites in Iran's southwestern city of Bushehr, the location of the nation's only civilian nuclear power plant, according to state media reports. The governor of Bushehr, Mohammad Mozaffari, confirmed the missile attacks, adding that authorities were investigating the scale and damage.

A few minutes ago, several locations in the city of Bushehr were attacked by enemy American missiles.

While the reports did not specify if the Bushehr nuclear facility was directly hit, an official noted that an area near Khormoj, the administrative center of Dashti county, was also attacked early Monday. This escalation follows a week of heightened tensions between the two nations.

President Donald Trump stated that the U.S. launched "very, very strong" strikes against Iran in retaliation for the recent deaths of American soldiers, potentially three, whom he described as "great heroes." He linked their deaths to Iran's pursuit of nuclear weapons.

Meanwhile, Iranian state media reported that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy shot down a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper armed drone over Bushehr using a newly developed air defense system. The report claimed the drone was intercepted in the city's airspace. The conflict has also impacted global oil prices, with Brent crude surpassing $91 per barrel, reaching a one-month high.
