Vacant lot fire in Tallasa City does not disrupt residents

A fire in a vacant lot within the Tallasa City integrated city in Makassar, Indonesia, was quickly contained and extinguished, causing no disruption to residents' daily lives. The blaze, which ignited in an area covered with dry grass, was prevented from spreading to surrounding residential areas and buildings.

FKS Land management confirmed that there were no fatalities resulting from the incident. Furthermore, no buildings, housing facilities, commercial areas, or residents' assets were affected. The fire was managed promptly through coordination between the internal area management team and the Makassar City Fire Department. Eight fire engines were deployed to combat the flames and conduct a cooling-down process.

The fire was completely extinguished by 9:00 PM WITA, with the cooling process ensuring no hotspots remained that could reignite. Yus Tinus Iwan Kurnianto, Makassar Operations Sub Division Head for FKS Land, praised the rapid response and dedication of the Makassar City Fire Department. He assured all residents, visitors, and the public that Tallasa City is currently "100 percent safe."

Kurnianto stated that the fire was confined to the dry grass in the vacant lot and did not reach any residential areas or structures nearby. "The safety and comfort of residents are our top priorities. In addition, let us work together to preserve nature so that it remains beautiful, green, and sustainable," he said. FKS Land management also urged the public to remain vigilant about potential fires, especially during dry weather conditions that make vegetation and grass in open areas susceptible to ignition. The management confirmed that the mitigation and reporting systems within Tallasa City remain operational to anticipate similar incidents, and all resident activities and area operations have returned to normal.
