Veda Ega Pratama Qualifies Ninth for Moto3 Hungarian Grand Prix

Indonesian rider Veda Ega Pratama will start the Moto3 Hungarian Grand Prix from ninth position after his qualifying session at the Balaton Park Circuit. Pratama, riding for Honda Team Asia, secured his grid spot with a time of 1 minute 48.845 seconds in the second qualifying session (Q2).

During Q2, Pratama showed competitive speed, briefly reaching second place and battling with riders like Rico Salmela, Máximo Quiles, and David Almansa. He even set a provisional fastest lap of 1 minute 46.845 seconds, topping the timesheets at one point. However, his advantage was short-lived as Almansa improved his time to reclaim the lead.

Pratama later returned to the pits for strategy evaluation, causing his position to drop to fifth temporarily as other riders intensified their efforts. In the final minutes, Máximo Quiles briefly took first place before David Almansa secured pole position with a 1 minute 45.686 second lap. Almansa will be joined on the front row by Quiles and Brian Uriarte.

Adding to the challenge, Pratama must also serve a long lap penalty during the race. The main Moto3 race, consisting of 30 laps, is scheduled to begin Sunday at 16:00 WIB and will be broadcast live on Trans7 and the streaming service Vidio.com.
