Veda Ega Pratama to start Moto3 British Grand Prix from 16th

Indonesian rider Veda Ega Pratama is set to compete in the Moto3 British Grand Prix, starting from the 16th position on the grid. The 17-year-old secured his qualifying spot at the Silverstone Circuit with a best lap time of 2 minutes 10.910 seconds during Q2.

Pratama, who rides for Honda Team Asia, showed promising pace earlier in the weekend, finishing third in Friday's practice session with a time of 2:09.639, which allowed him to advance directly to Q2. However, he struggled to maintain that momentum on Saturday. In the second free practice session, he placed 16th with a time of 2:11.054.

Despite the challenging qualifying session, Pratama will start from the sixth row for Sunday's race. The pole position was claimed by Scott Ogden of CIP Green Power with a time of 2:09.126. Ogden's teammate Adrian Cruces qualified second, followed by Valentin Perrone in third.

This season marks Veda Ega Pratama's debut in the Moto3 World Championship. His most notable achievement so far was securing third place at the Brazilian Grand Prix, making him the first Indonesian rider to reach the podium in a Grand Prix race.
