Venezuelan Naryury Pérez Reverón sets new regional record in weightlifting

Venezuelan weightlifter Naryury Alejandra Pérez Reverón has claimed the gold medal in the snatch portion of the women's +86 kg category at the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo. Her winning lift of 122 kilograms not only secured her the top spot but also established a new regional record.

Pérez Reverón's performance saw her exceed the previous regional mark of 120 kilograms, which she herself had set. This achievement solidifies her position as the dominant force in this weight class during the competition. The crowd's support in the venue reportedly served as a significant motivation for her record-breaking lift.

The silver medal in the event was awarded to Crismery Santana of the Dominican Republic, who successfully lifted 118 kilograms. Mexico's Laura Jiménez secured the bronze medal with a lift of 110 kilograms.
