While he did not reveal his own intentions regarding a presidential bid, Veryga emphasized that the "Peasant" party should nominate its own candidate and learn from its past mistakes.

Veryga admitted to a significant political misstep in 2024, where he believes he should not have withdrawn his support and transferred the backing of the "Peasant" party to Ignas Vėgėlė. "It was a political mistake, I shouldn't have done it," the politician told "Delfi."

He suggested that the party needs to learn from this error and put forward its own candidate for the upcoming presidential elections.
