"Via Baltica" Road Sees Two Serious Accidents, Three Injured

The "Via Baltica" highway experienced a tumultuous day with two separate, serious accidents occurring within hours of each other. Both incidents involved collisions between cars and motorcycles, resulting in injuries and significant traffic disruptions.

The first report came in at 11:21 AM in the Kėdainiai district, near the village of Nociūnai. Shortly after, at 12:04 PM, a second collision was reported on the A8 road in the Kaunas district, near the village of Gailiušiai. In both cases, a car and a motorcycle were involved.

Emergency services responded promptly to both scenes. In the Kaunas district accident, a car caught fire after the collision, with the motorcycle also possibly igniting. Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze and clear the roadway, which led to a complete halt in traffic for a period. The Kėdainiai accident caused partial traffic limitations.

Three individuals were injured across the two accidents and were taken to medical facilities for treatment. The motorcyclists in both collisions sustained injuries. In the Kaunas district incident, the motorcycle also carried a passenger who was transported to the hospital.
