Vice President Pays Homage to Fallen Heroes in Tay Ninh

Vietnamese Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan led a delegation to pay homage to fallen heroes and martyrs at the Binh Thanh Revolutionary Historical Site in Tay Ninh province. The solemn ceremony, held on July 10, is part of the nation's preparations for the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27.

The visit underscores Vietnam's "drinking water, remembering the source" tradition, reflecting the Party and State's care for those who have contributed to the nation and their families. In a solemn atmosphere, the Vice President and other officials offered incense and observed a moment of silence, expressing deep gratitude to the heroes who sacrificed their lives for national liberation and reunification.

Binh Thanh is historically significant as a "red address," symbolizing the resilient revolutionary movement of the region's people during the resistance wars against France and the United States. It served as a crucial base for revolutionary forces and leadership from 1940 onwards, housing key administrative bodies and armed units during the 21-year unification struggle. Recognized for its historical importance, the site was designated a national historical relic in 1998.

During the visit, Vice President Xuan presented 30 gifts to families of policy beneficiaries and individuals recognized for their contributions to the revolution in Binh Thanh commune. She engaged with the families, inquiring about their health and well-being, and reiterating the nation's appreciation for the immense sacrifices made by previous generations for the country's independence and freedom.
