Việt Nam ranks 3rd in world kickboxing cup

The Vietnamese kickboxing team has achieved a remarkable third-place finish at the 2026 Kickboxing World Cup held in Thailand. This impressive feat, with 32 gold, 33 silver, and 30 bronze medals, marks a significant leap from their previous participation, where they secured only 4 gold medals with a smaller contingent.

This year's tournament saw an expanded Vietnamese team of 52 athletes, demonstrating a substantial increase in both participation and success. The competition was fierce, featuring 980 fighters from 30 nations, including many of the world's top kickboxers. Despite the high level of competition, Vietnam's team showcased their prowess, securing a podium finish against formidable opponents.

Thailand, as the host nation and a traditional powerhouse in kickboxing, claimed the top spot, followed by Uzbekistan, another strong contender in martial arts. Vietnam's third-place ranking is a testament to their dedication and skill, especially considering kickboxing's reputation as a combat sport with high practical application, closely linked to MMA in its emphasis on striking techniques.
