Vietnam Opens Key Expressway Sections Ahead of Holiday

Vietnam is set to inaugurate crucial sections of the Eastern North-South Expressway, connecting Quang Ngai province to the Cu Mong Tunnel, on April 29th, just in time for the April 30th holiday. This significant development, spanning 88 kilometers, links directly to the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway and extends towards Quy Nhon. The opening of the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon section, managed by Ban Quản lý dự án 2, and parts of the Hoai Nhon - Quy Nhon and Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh projects, overseen by Ban Quản lý dự án 85, represents a major step forward in the nation's infrastructure development.

While the main carriageways and most interchanges are ready for use, the project is not entirely complete. Contractors will continue working on remaining elements, including three eastern tunnel tubes, the Duc Pho interchange, rest areas, weigh stations, automated tolling systems, and local access roads. This phased approach is common in large-scale infrastructure projects, allowing for earlier utilization while final touches are applied.

This expansion of the expressway network is vital for Vietnam's economic growth and connectivity. It promises to reduce travel times, facilitate trade, and improve transportation efficiency between key regions. For Vietnamese citizens, especially those in the central provinces, this new artery signifies progress and improved access.
