Vietnam province holds retake graduation exam for students caught cheating

Tuyen Quang province in Vietnam is organizing a special retake of the high school graduation exam for 328 students whose original results were invalidated due to cheating. The provincial People's Committee has established a special committee to oversee this make-up examination, aiming to ensure fairness and adherence to regulations.

Mr. Do Anh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Tuyen Quang Provincial People's Committee, has been appointed as the head of the provincial-level steering committee for this retake exam. This committee is tasked with fulfilling its functions and duties according to the high school graduation exam regulations and relevant laws. The retake is scheduled to take place from August 13 to 15, with results expected by August 19.

The decision to hold a retake exam comes after the Ministry of Education and Training canceled the results for these 328 students from the Tuyen Quang High School for the Gifted examination center on June 11 and 12. Officials stated that the retake is not a disciplinary measure but a step to ensure the integrity and fairness of the examination process. The investigation into the cheating incident is ongoing, with authorities identifying and prosecuting those involved. The results of this retake will be used for university admissions if deemed valid.
