Vukovar braces for Thompson concert with major traffic changes

Vukovar is preparing for a large concert by popular Croatian singer Marko Perković Thompson, scheduled for Saturday, August 29th, at 8 PM in the city's economic zone. The event is expected to draw a significant crowd, prompting authorities to implement special traffic regulations and issue safety recommendations.

Traffic changes will be in effect from August 27th to 29th, with the scope depending on the security situation and crowd flow. Parking will be restricted in the economic zone starting August 27th. On August 28th and 29th, certain roads within the economic zone, along with Kolodvorska Street, Jana Bate Street, and Sportska Street, will be closed to all traffic. Exceptions will be made for emergency services, public transport, residents, and authorized vehicles.

A detour route is planned from Vukovar to Borovo Naselje via Priljevo, Kudeljarska Street, and Blage Zadre Street. The main route from Županja via Vinkovci and Nuštar to Vukovar is expected to remain open. Visitors arriving by car and bus will be directed to a designated parking lot on Ulica Dvanaest redarstvenika, from where they will walk to the concert venue. Pedestrians are advised to use sidewalks to avoid impeding traffic.

Organizers and officials are calling for public patience, particularly during entry into the concert zone. The specific security measures and traffic management aim to ensure a smooth and safe event for the expected large number of attendees.
