Wang Leehom releases new English song Hope to support Singapore charity Epworth Community Services

Mandopop star Wang Leehom has released a new English-language song titled "Hope," dedicated to supporting Singaporean charity Epworth Community Services. The track premiered at Epworth's "Where Hope Blooms" fundraising gala and is now available on major streaming platforms.

This release marks a significant moment, as it is the first time an international Mandopop artist has produced an English song to aid a Singaporean social service agency. "Hope" centers on themes of resilience and optimism, reflecting Epworth's ongoing work with vulnerable children, at-risk youths, and families.

I have always been passionate about causes related to empowering children and youths. I hope this song encourages children and youths who are facing difficult life challenges to not give up, there is always hope.

The song was a collaborative effort with veteran Singaporean music producer Goh Kheng Long, who has worked with numerous prominent artists. Goh, a long-time volunteer music director for Epworth's galas, shared his passion for empowering young people. "I hope this song encourages children and youths who are facing difficult life challenges to not give up, there is always hope," he said.

Funds generated from the song and the gala dinner will bolster Epworth's programs, including trauma care, early learning intervention, and developmental support. The charity reports having assisted over 40,000 individuals since its establishment in 1998. Highlighting the increasing need for youth mental health support, Epworth's executive director, Tan Khye Suan, noted that one in three young people in Singapore experiences mental health challenges, and one in six exhibits behavioral issues.
