Mazatlán's beaches are experiencing a significant "mar de fondo" phenomenon, generating waves exceeding two meters in height. This has led to the rescue of ten local and national tourists who were swept out to sea by powerful undertows.

Gustavo Espinoza Bastidas, commander of the Aquatic Rescue Squad, reported that most incidents occurred on Beaches One and Two. Rescuers used jet skis and boats to assist swimmers struggling against the return currents. Fortunately, none of the rescued individuals required hospitalization, reporting only exhaustion and some crisis due to the dangerous situation.
