West Java Governor forms investigation team into alleged sexual harassment by Sumedang Deputy Regent

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi has initiated an investigation into allegations of abuse and sexual harassment involving Sumedang Deputy Regent Fajar Aldila. The governor announced the formation of a dedicated team to thoroughly examine the claims, aiming for an objective presentation of the events.

Reports circulating on social media and messaging apps suggest the alleged incidents occurred on August 17. The accusations involve the deputy regent allegedly harassing his personal secretary by hugging and kissing her without consent, followed by claims of physical abuse by several individuals later that evening. The deputy regent's wife and a cousin who is a member of the national parliament were also reportedly implicated.

The West Java Provincial Government today formed an investigation team to examine the Sumedang Deputy Regent so that the event can be presented objectively.

However, the Sumedang Deputy Regent has denied the allegations, questioning the credibility and verification process of the information. Furthermore, media reports indicate that an individual identified as the victim in the case has also denied the accusations, stating that the events as reported did not occur.

Governor Mulyadi stressed the importance of patience, urging all parties to await the investigation's findings before drawing conclusions or spreading narratives. The provincial government's move aims to ensure a fair and transparent process in addressing the serious allegations.
