Wiam Magdy joins the 1980s trend: “I like how I look”

Wiam Magdy has brought the 1980s back to her social media feed, sharing a photo inspired by the era's distinctive fashion. Her post joined a trend spreading across social media in recent hours.

In the Facebook image, Magdy appeared in an outfit drawn from 1980s style. She wrote, “Okay, I like how I look in the eighties.” Many of her followers responded positively, praising both her look and the atmosphere of the photograph.

The actress also recently revisited memories of her late grandmother, known as Teta Nawal, who appeared with her in a series of light, affectionate videos about everyday life. Magdy described their relationship as warm and emotionally supportive, and said her grandmother helped her recover from depression.

“Whenever I was interviewed, I always said that I had depression and Teta helped me get better. But I discovered something: she did not have to do anything. Her presence alone was enough,” Magdy wrote. She added that the tenderness, safety and affection she had received from her father, who died when she was young, had also helped her cope.

Magdy said losing her grandmother left her feeling profoundly alone. “She taught me how to be okay with her, but she did not tell me what the solution was without her,” she wrote.

Magdy appeared in the Ramadan 2026 drama series “Bebo,” a 15-episode production featuring Kazbara, Hala Sedki, Sayed Ragab, Walid Fawaz, Mohsen Mansour, Noreen Abu Saada, Ahmed Sultan, Zeina Mansour, Magdy Badr and Dina Diab. The series was written by Tamer Mohsen's writers' workshop, directed by Ahmed Shafik and produced by Saady Gohar. It combines drama, comedy and suspense.
