Wizz Air Adds New Route from Modlin, Considers Another Spanish Destination

Wizz Air has introduced a new flight connection from Modlin Airport, near Warsaw, to Santiago de Compostela, the capital of Spain's Galicia region. This historic city, famous as the destination of the Way of St. James pilgrimage and a UNESCO World Heritage site, will now be accessible twice a week, on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

The airline highlighted that Santiago de Compostela attracts not only pilgrims but also thousands seeking personal challenges, memorable journeys, or a peaceful escape in nature. Beyond its renowned cathedral and medieval Old Town, the city offers authentic Galician culture, excellent local cuisine, and proximity to the Atlantic coast, making it suitable for active travelers and city break enthusiasts alike.

Though for centuries it has attracted pilgrims, today Camino is also chosen by thousands of people seeking a personal challenge, an unforgettable journey, or simply a moment of respite from everyday life and close contact with nature.

Wizz Air currently operates 248 routes from Poland to 33 countries, with 43 aircraft stationed at its Polish bases. The airline resumed operations at Modlin Airport last year after a 13-year hiatus, now offering 11 destinations from the airport, including flights to Athens, Barcelona, Bergamo, Sofia, Malta, and Palermo.
