Woman arrested after traffic accident suspected of drunk/drugged driving and road rage

A Friday evening drive on Odensevej near Haarby took a dangerous turn, resulting in a multi-vehicle accident and the subsequent arrest of a 37-year-old woman. Fyns Politi has confirmed that the incident is being investigated with suspicions of impaired driving and road rage playing a significant role.

Our thought is that it was some road rage that ended in a traffic accident. That's why we were a bit interested in it. We suspect that she was under the influence of intoxicating drugs or alcohol.

According to police reports, the accident occurred shortly after 8 PM when two vehicles collided. The arrested woman was driving one of the cars, with another passenger inside. The second vehicle carried three occupants. While all five individuals involved sustained injuries, the severity is not considered life-threatening. Both vehicles have been impounded for detailed inspection as part of the ongoing investigation.

So we have filed several charges against her. But we are awaiting her blood samples and the vehicle inspector's records. Both cars have been taken for further examination.

Henrik Strauss, duty officer at Fyns Politi, indicated that witness accounts suggest a clear escalation of animosity between the drivers prior to the crash. The woman's vehicle is believed to have struck the other car as it was executing a left turn. Police are working to ascertain the precise sequence of events, including whether the drivers engaged in aggressive maneuvers or swapped positions multiple times before the collision. Blood samples from the suspect have been collected, and the findings from the vehicle inspector are pending, which will be crucial in determining the exact charges.
