Woman Damaging Car in Kulim Identified as Unmarried Individual with Disability Card, Not Domestic Dispute

Authorities in Kulim, Malaysia, have clarified that a woman who caused a public disturbance by damaging a civilian vehicle was not acting due to domestic issues, as initially speculated. The 33-year-old woman, who is unmarried and possesses a disability card, was apprehended after damaging a Perodua Myvi parked on the roadside in Taman Kemuning on a recent evening.

The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. when the woman approached the car belonging to a 29-year-old man who was reportedly buying food nearby. According to Kulim District Police Chief Superintendent Syamsul Sinring, the woman used a vegetable knife to smash the car's large rear window and taillight. Witnesses were present at the scene, and video footage of the incident circulated on social media.

Investigations found that the woman, unknown to the victim, approached the vehicle before breaking the large rear window and taillight using a vegetable knife.

Investigations revealed that the woman has a history of psychiatric treatment at Kulim Hospital since 2012, with her last visit in June. She holds a disability card under the mental category and is still unmarried. Police assisted in taking her to Kulim Hospital for treatment.

Superintendent Syamsul stated that the woman was not remanded and was handed over to her family on bail. The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code, which deals with mischief. Reports indicate that she previously lived with her mother, but due to her behavior, her mother moved in with other children in Butterworth, Penang.
