Woman dies in three-vehicle crash on West Coast Expressway

A fatal accident involving three vehicles occurred near the Teluk Intan West Coast Expressway (WCE) toll plaza this morning, claiming the life of a 54-year-old woman. The collision, which happened around 6:32 AM, involved a 25-ton truck, a Toyota Vellfire, and a Honda HR-V.

According to Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad, Assistant Director of Operations for the Perak Fire and Rescue Department, emergency services were dispatched to the scene immediately after receiving the report. Upon arrival, firefighters found two women inside the Toyota Vellfire. The 59-year-old driver sustained serious injuries and was extricated by bystanders.

The 54-year-old female passenger, however, was trapped in the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel. Firefighters used specialized equipment to free her body, which was then handed over to the police. The injured driver received initial treatment before being transported to the hospital by ambulance.

The driver of the Honda HR-V, a 50-year-old man, suffered minor injuries. The 31-year-old driver of the truck reported no injuries. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
