Workshop Fire Erupts in Hanoi; Quickly Contained

A fire erupted on Saturday afternoon in a row of temporary structures serving as a car repair workshop on Le Quang Dao Street in Hanoi. Firefighters from the Hanoi Police Department of Fire Prevention and Control were dispatched and managed to bring the blaze under control in just over 30 minutes.

The fire began around 2:30 PM, rapidly escalating and producing a large column of black smoke visible from a distance. The intensity of the fire presented significant challenges for the firefighting efforts. Upon arrival, emergency crews found the fire raging inside the workshop, fueled by flammable materials and equipment commonly found in car repair garages.

Firefighters deployed multiple units, spraying water to extinguish the flames and establishing perimeters to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby areas and structures. They also carried out demolition work on parts of the workshop to create firebreaks and contain the spread. After more than 30 minutes of intense effort, the fire was largely controlled. Crews continued to spray water to cool the area and extinguish any remaining embers, preventing a resurgence of the flames.

Fortunately, the incident resulted in no human casualties. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire. This incident marks the third workshop fire in Hanoi in recent times, highlighting the urgent need to strengthen fire prevention and control measures at production facilities, businesses, workshops, and car repair garages to promptly identify and address potential safety hazards.
