World U23: Four Greek crews vie for medals in Duisburg finals

The Greek rowing delegation is making a strong showing at the World U23 Championships in Duisburg, Germany. After a dominant performance in the semifinals, four Greek crews have secured their places in the final races, positioning themselves to compete for medals.

The first Greek crew to advance was the coxless pair of Alexandros Chatzitheodoridis and Andreas Bourkas. They delivered an exceptional performance in their semifinal, finishing first with a time of 6:34.00 to earn a spot in the final.

Following their success, Milena Kontou and Eleni Diabati showcased their strength in the double sculls. This Greek duo also finished first in their semifinal race, clocking in at 7:01.72 and securing their place in the medal race.

Nikos Cholopoulos and Angelos Athanasiadis-Kaoudis will also be competing in the finals. Cholopoulos took third place in his single sculls semifinal with a time of 6:58.54, while Athanasiadis-Kaoudis finished third in the lightweight single sculls semifinal at 7:08.62, both earning their spots in the final medal contests.

Additionally, three other Greek crews will compete in the 'B' finals, vying for final rankings between 7th and 12th place. These include Nefeli Ntara and Panagiota Kalaitzi in the coxless pair, Konstantinos Giannoulis and Apostolos Lykomitros in the double sculls, and Valia Lykomitrou in the single sculls.
