Wroclavia retains top green certification and prepares to become Westfield Wroclavia

Wroclavia has once again received the highest possible rating, “outstanding,” under the BREEAM In-Use certification system. The Wrocław shopping center is among just 1% of buildings worldwide to reach that level.

The certification examines the building’s energy efficiency, water management, user health and comfort, transport, waste and resource use. It also assesses emissions and pollution, resilience to climate change, ecology and the way the property is managed.

Representatives of owner Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield said Wroclavia is one of only six properties in Poland to achieve the top rating in both parts of the certification: Asset Performance, which evaluates the building’s characteristics and performance, and Management Performance, which assesses how it is operated. They described the result as one of the strongest in the company’s portfolio, which spans 11 countries across two continents.

Wroclavia improved on its previous certification result from 2023. The company said it has focused on cutting emissions, using resources efficiently and introducing environmentally oriented solutions. Opened in 2017, the center is fully leased and is expected to receive more than 18 million visitors in 2025.

On September 17, Wroclavia will adopt the name Westfield Wroclavia. It will become the third Westfield property in Poland, after Westfield Arkadia and Westfield Mokotów, and the 42nd worldwide.
