Zagreb's Borongaj Market Transforms into Drive-in Cinema for Film Classics

Zagreb's Borongaj Market parking lot is set to transform into a vibrant hub of cinematic nostalgia and community spirit with the return of the Drive-in Kino Zagreb. Running for three weekends from April 25 to May 17, this beloved event, now in its 14th year, promises a unique blend of film screenings, entertainment, and social engagement.

Organized by the Croatian Student Association in partnership with Eventim, the drive-in cinema offers a curated selection of beloved films, from timeless classics like 'Dirty Dancing' and 'Twilight' to blockbusters like 'Iron Man' and family favorites such as 'Koko i duhovi.' This year's lineup aims to cater to a diverse audience, bringing people together for shared movie experiences under the open sky.

Beyond the films, the event emphasizes a sense of community and offers added value to attendees. Ticket holders can enjoy complimentary creative and entertainment programs, including dance and children's workshops, as well as general knowledge and film culture quizzes, all with the chance to win prizes. To enhance the experience, gift packages with snacks and drinks are provided upon entry.

A particularly heartwarming aspect of this year's event is the humanitarian drive in collaboration with the 'Krugovi' donation center. Attendees are encouraged to bring clean, wrapped toys for children undergoing treatment for cancer, adding a layer of compassion to the festivities. Damir Vranić, Director of Eventim for Croatia and Slovenia, highlighted the importance of such events in fostering connection among young people, stating that they provide essential spaces for shared experiences that resonate beyond the screen.
