Zelenskyy discusses peace talks and defense deals with U.S. representatives

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy engaged in discussions with U.S. representatives Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, focusing on strategies to "activate diplomacy and bring peace closer." Zelenskyy described the conversation as productive, highlighting the ongoing close contact between their teams. He expressed gratitude to President Trump and the American people for their "unwavering support."

Earlier, Zelenskyy met with U.S. Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker. Their talks covered bilateral relations, specifically mentioning President Trump's decision, made in Ankara, to grant Ukraine a license for manufacturing Patriot missiles and a drone agreement. Zelenskyy noted that their teams are actively working on these initiatives, which hold significant potential, and expressed hope for a swift finalization of the deals.

These diplomatic engagements occur in the wake of a recent appeal made in Paris by the Coalition of Volunteers. The coalition called for a ceasefire in Ukraine and the initiation of direct negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow, with the involvement of both Washington and European powers.
