2027: Ebonyi Governor Nwifuru will defeat opposition, says Senator Nwebonyi

Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru is poised for a decisive victory in the 2027 governorship election, with Senator Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi declaring that no opposition party can challenge his re-election. Nwebonyi, the Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District, attributed the governor's strong political standing to his administration's tangible achievements in infrastructure and human capital development.

For the last turnout in this election, I have visited about five polling units and the turnout is encouraging.

Speaking after local government elections at his polling unit in Mbeke Ishieke, Nwebonyi noted the encouraging voter turnout, which he interpreted as a reflection of growing support for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state. "The turnout is suggesting that Ebonyi State is APC and APC is Ebonyi State," he stated, emphasizing that Governor Nwifuru's performance has earned widespread public approval.

Nwebonyi lauded Nwifuru as a "purposeful leader" with "foresight" who is committed to improving Ebonyi State. Therefore, anybody who is coming to challenge my governor in the next election is embarking on what we call a wild goose chase.

Furthermore, Nwebonyi extended praise to President Bola Tinubu's administration, crediting federal infrastructure projects and road interventions with bolstering confidence in the APC within the South-East. He pointed to the ongoing Calabar-Ebonyi-Benue-Nasarawa-Abuja highway project as a crucial economic corridor that will enhance connectivity and foster development across multiple states. Nwebonyi asserted that the federal government's significant attention to the South-East and South-South regions through such large-scale projects marks a new era of federal support for the Igbo people.
