2027: NDC disowns La’ah’s Kaduna gov ticket

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially refuted claims that Senator Danjuma La’ah received a governorship ticket for the 2027 Kaduna State election. A purported ticket circulating on social media has been dismissed as false by the party's Deputy National Chairman, North, Alhaji Sidi Abdul Bomi.

This denial comes amidst internal party conflict, with Mohammed Abbas also asserting his claim as the legitimate NDC governorship candidate. Abbas stated that the national leadership has clarified the situation, confirming the falsity of La’ah's purported ticket. He emphasized that any document suggesting otherwise should not be trusted.

Abbas further detailed his own candidacy process, asserting that he followed all party procedures, including obtaining the nomination form, undergoing screening, and winning the primary election. He questioned the legitimacy of a ticket for someone who allegedly did not participate in the screening or primaries.

He wasn’t screened. If he was screened, it must have been privately because we didn’t see him at the screening venue. And he didn’t come for the primaries.

Adding a personal angle, Abbas revealed he was instrumental in bringing La’ah into the NDC, claiming the senator's initial intention was to contest for a senatorial seat, not the governorship. This assertion highlights a potential misunderstanding or shift in La’ah's political ambitions within the party.
