2027: Tinubu will defeat Kwankwaso in Kano — Abdulmumin Jibrin

Nigerian lawmaker Abdulmumin Jibrin confidently predicts a victory for President Bola Tinubu over Rabiu Kwankwaso in Kano State during the 2027 presidential election. Jibrin, who represents Kiru/Bebeji Federal Constituency, stated on Channels Television that his familiarity with Kwankwaso's political operations would enable the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to effectively counter his influence. "We know him very, very well, we know his strategy, he is still influential, he has supporter base in Kano," Jibrin said, acknowledging Kwankwaso's significant standing in the state. However, Jibrin emphasized that Kwankwaso's candidacy as a running mate, rather than a presidential aspirant, fundamentally changes the electoral landscape. He argued that if Kwankwaso were the presidential candidate, the political dynamics in Kano might be different, but his current position as a vice-presidential candidate alters the contest significantly. Jibrin also reflected on his past political relationship with Kwankwaso, expressing gratitude for past support while affirming his current political allegiance to Tinubu.
