Adrar launches its harvest: 1.7 million quintals of wheat expected in Algeria's Grand Sud

The Grand Sud region of Algeria is buzzing with activity as the official wheat harvest campaign kicks off in the wilaya of Adrar. This year's harvest is shaping up to be a record-breaker, with projections indicating a yield exceeding 1.7 million quintals from 38,000 hectares of cereal crops. The local authorities have marshaled an impressive logistical operation, deploying over 140 combine harvesters and 200 trucks to ensure a smooth and efficient collection process.

Furthermore, ten proximity storage centers have been established in coordination with the Adrar Cereals and Dried Vegetables Cooperative and the National Cereals Office. This strategic placement aims to facilitate the collection and preservation of the grain under optimal conditions, ensuring that this bumper harvest translates into tangible economic benefits for the region and the nation.
