After storm, two Anykščiai social welfare home divisions lack electricity and water

Following a severe weekend storm, two divisions of the Anykščiai social welfare home in Lithuania are facing significant disruptions, lacking electricity, water, and communication services. The situation is described as complex, impacting the daily lives of over 50 residents in these affected units.

While the Burbiškis division of the facility has electricity and water, the other two divisions are relying on temporary generators. These generators are only capable of meeting essential needs, creating challenging working conditions for the staff. The lack of stable power and water affects the overall ability to provide care and maintain normal operations.

Local authorities and the water supply company are collaborating to address the issues. The director of the social welfare home emphasized the urgency of restoring electricity, particularly to the care home and any associated medical facilities, to ensure the well-being of the residents.

Electricity provider estimates that power supply will be restored by Friday. Efforts are ongoing to fully resolve the situation and ensure all services are back to normal as quickly as possible.
