The ambulance was rerouted because a section of Republic Boulevard, a key thoroughfare, was closed to accommodate the city festival's activities. The SAJ emphasized that the ambulance used its lights and sirens and that the patient's life was never in danger, as medical personnel continuously monitored him during transport.

Residents have criticized authorities for prioritizing public entertainment over infrastructure, cleanliness, and healthcare needs.
