Armed Group Storms Party, Kills Three in Oaxaca; Prosecutor's Office Investigates

A violent attack shattered a birthday celebration in Santo Domingo Zanatepec, Oaxaca, when an armed group stormed a party and opened fire on attendees, resulting in three deaths. The incident occurred at the "Baby O" event hall in the Istmo de Tehuantepec region.

Preliminary reports identify the fatalities as brothers Basilio and Julio, along with a third individual named Felipe. Their bodies were found among the party guests. Social media platforms have circulated videos capturing the moments of the armed assault. A fourth person sustained serious gunshot wounds and was rushed to a hospital for emergency treatment.

The Oaxaca State Attorney General's Office confirmed it has initiated a formal investigation into the events. In a statement, the office detailed that the attack took place on the afternoon of August 14, at the "Baby O" venue on Febronio López Avenue. Three men, identified by initials F.G.C., V.M.A., and J.C.M.A., lost their lives, and another individual is receiving hospital care for gunshot injuries.

Specialists and agents from the State Investigation Agency (AEI) were immediately dispatched to the scene to secure the area and collect ballistic evidence. The investigation is actively progressing to establish lines of inquiry and identify those responsible for the attack.
